I want to say thank you for your SAT prep; the reading practice questions were particularly helpful! I got a 2110 combined score and I am sooo happy (especially because I won't have to take them again in October...)!! –Student, Meg

As an educator, I am impressed with the work you have done on the site. I am going to suggest it to my daughter's school as a resource. –Parent/Teacher, M.Ed. Mouring

This site came up and I love it. I've recommended it to several of my friends and I have found it very beneficial. –Student, Carly

INeedAPencil.com: The Company and The Founder

My name is Jason Shah—founder of INeedAPencil.com. I started this company in high school with a vision to change test prep forever. Working as a tutor was tedious and online programs then (and still) lacked innovation that really leveraged online capabilities. So I put together a business plan and launched I Need a Pencil, LLC in November 2006 with the support of my parents and a web-savvy high school friend. I currently run the company myself and study at Harvard University. Feel free to email me with any questions or ideas at JasonShah@INeedAPencil.com.
Once the company was formed, I designed requirements for the online program, led a team of web and curriculum developers and launched INeedAPencil.com formally in April 2007. This program really addresses a common concern that test prep is boring, and when students are bored, they don’t learn well. It’s common sense. So these practice questions generally appeal to interests of an average teenager like sports and music. The lessons are written in a conversational tone so that reading them is bearable. The cool tools of the program include customized practice sessions so you can get a specific set of practice questions that focus on your time needs or skill weaknesses. Also each practice session provides you with a summary of performance and a projected SAT score at its conclusion. Also you can take/store digital notes for yourself in addition to emailing progress reports to yourself and others like parents or teachers. INeedAPencil.com: the battle cry for unprepared students—please work hard and get everything out of this program so you achieve your goals!
INeedAPencil.com is an innovative online SAT preparation program with a mission to significantly raise each student’s SAT scores through the use of interesting learning content, proven testing methods and helpful student tools.
Unlike the many commercial programs pushed through by major companies that charge thousands of dollars, INAP is effective and constantly developing new and refining current features. I Need a Pencil is developed using the input of test-takers with the expertise of educators to ease the concerns of students and parents who want to see success. SAT success will affect college admissions, countless scholarship and financial aid opportunities and a student’s self-esteem. Help is just one click away so register today!
