My name is Jason Shah—founder of INeedAPencil.com. I started this company in high school with a vision to change test prep forever. Working as a tutor was tedious and online programs then (and still) lacked innovation that really leveraged online capabilities. So I put together a business plan and launched I Need a Pencil, LLC in November 2006 with the support of my parents and a web-savvy high school friend. Once the company was formed, I designed requirements for the online program, led a team of web and curriculum developers and launched INeedAPencil.com formally in April 2007.
